Kubota 2011 MX5100 W/la844 loader, ag/ tires loaded, Massey Ferguson 2010 GC2610 TLB w/ r4 tires, loaded, 60" Belly Mower
searched but found noting.

is there a 24" bucket for my massey gc2610 tlb.

i am thinking of digging a foundation for a double home & don`t know how to do it with a 12" bucket.

good soil to dig a foundation in. or can i modify my 12" into 24".?

thanks, candyman

I looked on AGCO partsbook for buckets. It does show buckets, but you will need to know the model of the hoe itself, then search. There are 24" buckets listed for 3 pt. hoes, even up to 37" for cemetery use.

It could be done with the 12", but lots of offsetting, and cleanup... I'm not sure if those units will pick the tail end up, and allow you to offest yourself, to the perpendicular line of the footer... IF you can.., you can always center up on the footer. Then offset the rear, to line the boom/bucket up with each outside line of the footer. Dig one side, then offset to the other..., then clean up. A lot of work, but better than a #2 Razorback...

I have done this several times on a full sized TLB, installing 48" pipes, digging with a 24" bucket, because that is all we had...

If you find that your hoe is capable of handling a 24", maybe find an old 24" bucket, and modify it to fit your hoe...?? Sounds the easiest to me, if it's a one time deal, rather than modifying what you have, then remove to get back to 12". You can always take smaller bites...

I always figured anything over a shovel full, hydraulicly powered was a win/win..., LOL...

The weight of a 2610 machine will make digging in packed soil, with a 24" bucket very difficult. That is why they don't offer the option.

I am not sure why you think you can't dig it with the 12".

I did some searching to see just what size that unit is..., and model number that fits on a GC2610. The hoe appears to be a CB05, and only shows a 10" bucket with it.

With that being said, I'd just try it with what you have, if I were doing it for myself...

In order to save you time and grief as you are planning on installing slabs apparently-

Rent the largest walk behind trencher you can find or hire some one with a Vermeer trencher to dig below the frostline on both edges of each slab excavation and then simply dig and dump from one side from end to end
and carry the dirt away- by digging retreating in the longtitudinal direction of the slab.

Man I hate to be a pessimest but a foundation hole with a compact is a huge undertaking. A 320 Cat can dig that hole in the time it will take you to to put enogh fuel in a compact tractor. I would consider hireing out the digging, you could still backfill to save hauling the big machine a trip, plus dig the utilities to save a little. I gotta believe you could get a pretty nice hole dug for reasonable money if thats all you wanted was a hole.

Not trying to shoot you down, just making a suggestion.

DJ54, it is a cbo5 comes standard with a 12"bucket. oh yes, sure will pick up the back end & scoot it around very easily.
what is a #2 razorback. ?

RAY66V, i see no problem digging the footer soil seems to be easy to dig. 24" wide trench with a 12" bucket & i`m not to xperienced at this , but that`s how i`ll learn from ya`ll xperience helping me along with this project.

leonz, sounds like that would work, but more xpense for me. i want to do this job myself learn as i go with the help of ya~ll that have been there.

thank you all. any more ideas or suggestions . ?

Incedently I have a small Bradco 7 1/2' Backhoe withan 18" digging bucket on a John Deere. I found a 36" Catapillar ditching bucket from a mini excavator that fit right on. Pins were the same size, flanges were a little wide so I had to make a couple of bushings but it works awsome in light soils. I paid $75, cheap money for a nice bucket. Measure your pins and do a little research you might find a different used bucket that will work with your machine.

A #2 Razorback is what we referred to at work, as a shovel....
