Hello,

I have an RK24 subcompact and just passed the 100 hour mark after about 6 weeks of use and I知 having issues with my backhoe. The dipper stick, when pulling it towards me, lacks power, is laggy when activating the dipper, and when not on the ground will swing with gravity if I pull the stick all the way

The Hydraulic piston will catch up to it after a second or two. I have a similar issue with the bucket curl.

I was assuming I got air in the system so I worked all the pistons, full in and out, but the symptoms have not improved.

It痴 my first tractor so I知 a bit clueless and don稚 have any experience with working on hydraulic systems.

Thanks for the help!

Post the schematic over the hydraulic system.
It sounds like the pump is not filling the cap side of the cylinders when they are pulled by gravity.
A schematic will tell more about possible errors.
I assume the hydraulic system has fixed displacement pumps.
Have you tried to use a higher pump/engine rpm?
Does this symptom remain while digging ie these two functions under load?
Is the pump pressure (power) normal for the other functions?

I know it sounds ridiculous, but have you checked your hydraulic fluid level? Sometimes I will have similar hydraulic issues and find that being just a little low has an effect on my equipment, especially on sloping ground. Could also be changing the filters. You mentioned just passing the 100 hour mark. Sometimes fluid and/or filters needs to be changed after a break in period.

Thanks for the help!! I did change the hydraulic fluid and filter at 50 hrs. I checked the level and it痴 actually over filled.

Here is a link the the backhoe schematic. I looked for a schematic for the tractor itself but did not see one. Microsoft services

I haven稚 experienced any issues, that I can tell, with my front loader. It痴 very responsive and feels strong at engine idle. I have not tried increasing the RPMs.

I do experience the lag issue and limp dipper when digging - it never seems to improve. The dipper sometimes takes 1-3 seconds to respond but when it finally does respond it feels under powered but does 努ork? Not sure if that answered your question.

Thanks,

Marshall

Ok then, Id suggest looking at your hydraulic connection from tractor to backhoe. Maybe sure lines are routed properly. Is there a hydraulic valve to shut off/on flow to backhoe? Like a power beyond valve? Are the stabilizer arms strong and pick up the back wheels off ground easily?

Thanks. Yes, the stabilizer arms are strong and can pick up the back of the tractor. There are only three hydraulic lines to the backhoe and they only hook up one way. I don稚 think there is a shut off valve but not sure. I値l take a look.
