backhoe for 4310

I talked to my dealer yesterday and he said I could do a 48 or a 447 not a 448 for my 4310. I have power beyond already. For the 48 it was $7800 installed with pick up and delivery. The 447 was $7200. What is everyones thoughts? I thought I could get a 448. Is this a good deal?

Those prices sound high considering you already have the Power Beyond. I would commend you to buy the 48 v the 47. I have no experience with the 47 but will say that I wouldn't want any less reach than I have with my 48. More reach means less repositioning of the machine.

I wonder if his price includes the 'free' pick up and delivery. Can I get the 448 for the 4310?

I don't think you should place a lot of value on free pickup and delivery. They should be willing to do that just to make the sale of the backhoe. I don't know if the 448 will fit your tractor. There's a fellow called RockyRidge that will more than likely pop his head in to this discussion. He knows all about specs and will tell you which backhoe will work best for you. Incidentally, I think he has a 4310 as well, with a 47 hoe. I would put faith in his advice.

In spite of what Dave says here's my input...

I got the 47 for less than 5 grand. I only need to dig 2' deep isially, so it is gine. But if I ever want to trade tractors I will almost certainly need a different hoe, If I had gotten a 48 I would be better off then.


If at all possible, you would want the 448, but it doesn't look like it is.

I would go to the 48, then, But I haven't compared the 447 to the 48 much. But even if they are awefully close, the 48 willl give you better trade options.
