I have a Kioti 2009 DK40SE HST, I am looking to purchase a backhoe, looking for advise on make and model. The 3pt hitch is used quite often so I would like the hoe to be easily removed and reinstalled.

We are a KIOTI Tractor Dealer and a WOODS Dealer. Either Backhoe attachment will work fine. Both you will have to get off the operators seat and move to the backhoe seat.

The KIOTI KB2485 a complete sub-frame that is out of the way, attached to the backhoe unit and removed when backhoe is removed. Mounts are attached to the tractor so they are hardly noticeable. With the KIOTI three point hitch arms are raised to the highest point and stored there - NO need for removal. VERY nice unit.

The WOODS BH80Xunit has mounts that attach to the rear of the tractor. They are not in the way but are noticeable. Basically a cradle and two pins for the unit to sit in. Does require more work to remove than does the KIOTI. Sub-frame remains with the tractor after backhoe removal. Three point hitch arms remain on tractor.

Neither unit will require aux hyd pump or tank. Your tractor can supply needed hydraulics.

As an owner of a KIOTI KB2485 I have to agree with LaVoie Equipment this backhoe is very easy to mount and unmount. Just make sure the frame is mounted right side up or the backhoe with drag behind the tractor like a dog dragging it *****! Very nice setup.

I have the Woods, and it mounts easy. I take my 3pt arms off because with them on and up, it jams against the valve for the hydraulic thumb, down they hang lower than the hoe loosing ground clearance and a brace in the middle so no going half way. I could probably leave the arms up, but I just don't like how one of them rest against that thumb valve, with no hyd. thumb no problem. It's also very easy to remove the 3 pt hitch arms too. I also like how the subframe protects the hydraulic filter, although the DK40 may be different than my CK.

I have a Woods BH90x mounted on my DK40se. Works very well and I am happy with it. I have mounted it both with the 3pt latch mechanism in place and also sometimes removing them. Easier to get things to fit when you take them off and it only takes 5 minutes.

The Woods subframe is a different style than the Kioti subframe. I had a Kioti subframe on my previous tractor and like it for being a bit faster to line up but it was much bulkier to store.

Go for the 90x rather than 80x unless the budget is critical.

Good point the Kioti subframe is bulkier to store. The way I handle this is to store it behind the tractor in my tractor shelter. I just backup the tractor over the very end of the frame.

Also note the Kioti subframe may do a better job distributing the forces on the backhoe more evenly across the body of the tractor. I have heard of one incident were the cast body of the tractor was cracked due to the backhoe being attached to just the rear of tractor. I don't know the details, so I don't know if something was not setup correctly.

Kioti has a 1 year warranty
Woods has a 2 year warranty and you can also add a manual or hydraulic thumb in the future.

Do you know if the wood's DK40 subframe mount will work on my DK35SE? I have a BH7500 that has a 3pt hitch kit on it now but would like it to be frame mounted, it also has it's own pro pump and reservoir.
