Backhoe Backhoe for MF 1540

Hey, i got a 1540 with loader, and have looking at backhoes, and i have read some about the different choices, and i have leaned toward the bradco with the 4 point subframe. The question i was wanting to ask is what model would be best i want to stay around the 8 foot digging depth. I also was wanting to know the general opinions or advice about this brand or backhoes in general.

Bradco is probably the best after market hoe that there is. Having said that I would still go with a MF hoe. The reason is that many owners have had problems with hoes of compact tractors. If the same brand of hoe is installed and there is a problem then there is no finger pointing. Which has been a major problem for a few when problems have raised their ugly head.

Thanks for the heads up, but i like the bradco alot better, and i can get it on a crate and assemble myself alot cheaper last time i checked. I was looking at either the 509 or 609 hoe which has 9' 7" depth is this to much hoe for this tractor? Also which would be better the pto pump or power beyond on the tractor, the pto pump would get the 11gpm and the tractor wouldn't so i would say the pto, but still wanna hear opinions.

I wouldn't go any larger than 8.5' with this size of tractor. If the cylinders are larger than 2.5", you would need a larger pump than what the tractor has or I feel that it would be marginal. Anything 2.5" or less has plenty of speed for anything that needs to be done. If the hoe is larger than 8.5' and the cylinders are larger than 2.5", you are asking for trouble. The amount of stress is amazing that any size of hoe puts on a compact tractor. If the hoe breaks the tractor, most manufactures (tractor) will not work with you to fix it. It will be on your nickel.
