Backhoe on my 4720

I am thinking I want a backhoe for my 4720. I keep having uses for one, and I might break down and buy one. Does anybody have a 4x20 with a BH? Any recommendations? Pics?

I have a 4520 with the JD 448 BH. It was only delivered a couple of weeks ago, so I haven't had any use out of it yet. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have a backhoe on my 4320 and have to say it is by far my favorite and most used tool. I have 210 hours on my tractor now, and more than 150 of those were with the backhoe. I got quotes for tiling some of my fields, and then decided that just in that use alone I could pay for it. I don't know your situation, but if you don't have to make money with it, they are the handiest and most fun of the implements for landscaping with a CUT. I use my backhoe, loader, boxscraper and brush hog to get just about anything done on my property. If you buy it I doubt if you would regret it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a lot of general stuff I do around here. I might hold off a little bit (just bougth a FEL and graaple for my 5525). How much was the 448 installed? What accessories did you get, what did they have to install on the tractor, etc? It sure seems that I will find plenty of projects to use it on.

About 7000 installed when tractor was new. Power beyond kit from Deere is needed, that was part of the deal.

24" bucket. I want to be able to get into the trench to work with connections, and for ditching it excavates pretty well. The dealer just roughed out individual prices on my sales agreement. I was dealing the whole package price and he rounded off everything in even thousands (!). If you go to list price, take off 20% and you will be pretty close to what you can buy one for. I bought mine in summer of '04, and I am sure the prices are a little higher now due to steel costs at least.
