what size and brand backhoe do you have on your tc40da New Holland tractor?

I do not have a backhoe on my TC45D tractor, but I think I can guarantee you more responses if you put this question in the New Holland forums. Lots of folks read their specific brand forums and hardly ever read the general forums.

On my TC40S I have a Woods BH90-X which is subframe mounted and runs off of the 9.8GPM tractor hydraulics. Woods specs say to BH needs between 9 and 12 GPM.
When I had the Woods BH installed (by others) I already had one set of optional rear remotes in place. I am now installing an optional second set of rear remotes for top and tilt and because the outboard Woods block is about 1/2" thicker than the factory New Holland block, I had to use the four threaded longer rods from the optional third set of rear remotes in order to have enough thread to bolt the entire block set together. This I will attempt tommorrow as I have removed the rear right tire and placed a jack stand, removed the fender sheet metal, attached the 90 degree angles to the second block, loosened up the Woods outboard block and detached the Woods hoses.
If you are at all considering NH rear remotes, you might want to add them now, before the BH unless you plan to use an externa BH hydraulic reservoir.
Again, the Woods hydraulic block is thicker than the NH stock block. I don't know about other backhoes.

I bought my TC40DA used with a N.H. 757C backhoe already on it. I've only had a chance to play with it a little.

I've got a TC40D with an older ford 758B backhoe. If you are asking for sizing purposes check out the specs on any particular hoe prior to buying and by all means get one with a subframe. Preferably a subframe that attaches to the tractor frame and rops frame. This will take the backhoe forces off of the tractors axle and trans housings. Broken frames can be welded but axles maybe not and can be many $$$$ to fix. My 758B hoe is a little underpowered in my opinion, I would like something like a Woods B90X for breakout and digging force if I were to do it again.

I have a NH 758C on mine that I found for a decent price used. Unfortunately, it did not come with all the bracketry, so I ended up buying all that through a dealer, and let me tell you NH is quite proud of their brackets! In the end, I have a used BH with new brackets that was maybe $1500 less than just buying new.

For the few stumps I have dug with it, it gets the job done, but do have to take it slow and have still needed to take the chainsaw to large roots in some cases.

Not sure this helps much as I don't think they make these anymore, unless you find a used one ... have not looked, though, so could be wrong.
