Mahindra 3535
New forum member here with my first post. Living in New Hampshire and am eyeing a used 2014 3535, that already has the FEL. I know I will want to add a backhoe in the future, BUT having a tough time finding something that will fit this now discontinued tractor model. From what I gather, the backhoe itself (485, or whatever new number it has now), is available. It's the subframe, or mounting kit that is not available. Obviously can't have one without the other, so should I consider this a deal breaker for this 3535 purchase? I don't want the 3 pt backhoe so that's not an option.
I would think that there would be used backhoes out there that I could add after the fact? Does anyone already have the set up, and if so could you tell me which brand/model mounting kit you are using, and with which backhoe? The next attachment would be a front mount snowblower for this 3535 if that's even possible, but I'm trying to focus on just the backhoe options for now:-}
Thank you so much in advance. What a great forum with TONS of advice; I just can't seem to find the exact answer I'm looking for yet.

First welcome to the forum!
2nd, I hope someone that knows more than I chimes in to give you good information.
My best guess is you you commit to this tractor and putting a backhoe on it, you are committing to building the subframe for it.
Being close to the mid south in the southern mid west USA, I know nothing about snow blowers! 95+% of our snows will melt off within a day or two.

If you can search for 3 or 4 years, you MIGHT find the hoe and subframe you are looking for!
My suggestion: Do not buy ANY machine without both a loader and hoe ALREADY installed.
Here, is the "exact answer" you are looking for!
You will drive yourself crazy looking for a needle (hoe + subframe) in a haystack!

Thank you both for your replies, and I concur w/fried1765! I gave up on the search and the purchase of this used tractor, which has since been sold. The two Mahindra dealers could not tell me what subframe went on this frame, and one called up Mahindra Corp to find out- he was told that Mahindra no longer sold the subframe for this tractor. That seemed odd to me, as in why would a fairly new 2014 already have discontinued parts? Sounds like this is common with tractors? I decided to call Mahindra Corp myself and ask the same question: the reply was 'of course we sell a backhoe and mount for that tractor, it would not make sense for us to not continue making parts for our tractors!' I then said to please give me the specific model/name of what fits the 3535...and got crickets. He tried to push me back to the dealer, saying they had all that info. Told him I did, twice. He tap danced a bit more and said only his parts people would have that info, I said connect me please- more tap dancing. I said give me their extension and I'll call later, continued tap dancing. Finally he said he would forward an email to his parts guys with my phone number, and promised they would call me back with the info I needed...and that was the final chirp chirp as I never heard back from anyone.
So the search for a nice used tractor with loader/backhoe set up continues here in New England!
Thx again.

I have a 485 backhoe for sale but I guess it doesn’t matter now. I don’t use it but very little so decided to sale it. Good luck in your search.

Heres my input as someone who owned a tractor with a backhoe... save your $$ and rent or buy a used mini... the odds you will use it enough to justify the cost are very low. If you will use it enough you will notice the performance is lacking compared to a stand alone unit, too which you can buy a used one for roughly the same cost.

I just traded in a 30hp compact tractor that I had the hoe for, for a 65hp tractor... the dealer and I both giggled over this topic, as he stated I still wouldnt get the performance I want with the tractor with over twice as much power.

You should confront the lying dealer and report the conversations to MUSA. How will they know dealers are not servicing existing customers unless notified. Be professional and polite.
Find a new dealer that will sell you the proper subframe/backhoe. A 3pt BH will probably cost you more than a new BH/subframe in the long run.
This could be one of your best investments or worse nightmare. What would you do if the local car dealership told you that parts were not available for your 6 year old truck??
MUSA does not deal directly with customers just like JD, CaseIH, etc. The dealers have that responsibility and some do a great job and others not so much, Find a good dealer.
I purchased a BH/subframe installed in 2014 for a 2003 3510 installed from my dealer. Yes it was pricey, but well worth every penny. I use it all the time and can remove / install it in less than 15 min.

You might also contact the company that makes the backhoe. I’ve never talked to them at Bradco but I talked to someone at KMW who builds solid loaders and backhoes for a lot of the Mahindra models. They were very helpful but that was years back. KMW built the loader on my 4035 but bradco built the backhoe and bradco might know what subframe you need of you ever decide to go that way again. Good luck

If you are looking for a Mahindra - I have a 2555 HST with loader and 75B backhoe (made by Bradco). It digs to 9-1/2 ft deep. Also has hydraulic thumb. 550 hrs. If interested - send me a PM and we can discuss.
