BACKHOE HYDRAULIC QUESTION

Does anyone have a backhoe attached to a CT235, 230 or 225 using the standard selectable A - B rear remote hydraulic connections? My dealer told me that this is the hydraulic configuration for the standard Bobcat (Rhino) backhoe. He also said it's good for Top & Tilt.

I'm used to one output hose from the tractor, which goes to the input of the hoe... and a return hose from the hoe to the tractor.

If I have "A" selected as the output from the CUT, will the return hose from the hoe connect to the "B" connection on the CUT?

This is the only thing I can think of, but "A" and "B" are both selectable as output sides.
Thanks

My Kioti CK20 has the selectable flow remotes in the rear for the backhoe also. What my dealer did was put a red zip tie around one of the backhoe hoses and another red zip tie around the corresponding QD so I always know which is which when my selector is in B. I like it setup for B since that puts the lever back out of the way where it can't get bumped as easily. Having the selectable remotes is good so you can run different attachments such as a top-n-tilt cylinder, wood splitter, etc... without adding extra remotes. Try the zip tie trick and never worry about which hose goes where again.

If you hook them up wrong (which I did once ) then you will know right away since none of the controls move the way they are supposed to.

I use the single detented remote with my CK30. I set up my remotes so
that there is one male and one female QD on the tractor, so my hoe,
hyd toplink, etc. can only be connected up one way. I could push the
lever the wrong way...that would be bad as the return line can prob not
handle more than 500 psi without damage.

One downside to this hookup is that the oil restriction thru the AUX valve
does cause the oil to heat up more than if you had a lower restriction
connection. I am considering connecting my hoe to one of the AUX
connections and the return line straight to the oil sump.

(Rhino makes the Bobcat hoe? Interesting...same OEM as New Holland.)

Thanks Dmace. I presume that while using the "B" selection as the cut output, the returning hose from the hoe connects to the cut "A" connection?

Yes, Rhino (Alamo Grp.) makes the hoe and the loader. However, the underside of the loader mount is designed like the CK unit... same holes. I'm looking at buying the Woods subframe mount BH80-X and had to check the underside hole configuration.

I'm a little confused as to the question but there are two quick disconnect couplers on the back of my tractor stacked one on top of the other. Now while in the "A" position one of the couplers (Top for example) is the pressure line and the other (Bottom) is the return, now if I put it in the "B" position then they just switch so that now the Top is the return and the Bottom is the pressure line. This is why it's good for a dual acting cylinder such as a top-n-tilt for 3pt attachments.

In this picture you can see the rear remotes and the zip ties on the lines.

Thanks Dmace. You just answered my question. I wasn't sure if these two lines were both output lines or if one worked as a return depending on the A or B selection. Appreciate the photo. I can see the red tie you were talking about; good idea to avoid confusion.
