Ym330D
I am planning on purchasing a Koyker backhoe (KB75)to use on one or both of my two tractors (Kubota L4200 & YM330D). I understand that the YM330D is identical (or very close to it) to the John Deere 950.
The Koyker data shows no frame kit for the YM330D but does list one for the John Deere 950; however, it says that the frame mount kit works without a loader.
My question is: can a frame mount be made to use with the loader, or, can one purchase the frame mount for the John Deere and modify it to work with the YM330D?
Anyone know if it would be adviseable to put the Koyker hoe on the
yanmar without a frame mount?
Any help with this would be appreciated.

I really think all backhoes should mount on sub-frames, even so, we've hung a few Koyker backhoes on Yanmars without the sub-frame mount. We haven't had any problems, but I always talk with the customer about the intended uses of the hoe first. If he is going to be aggressive with it and/or use it extensively, I suggest he not buy a three-point mount. To my knowledge, all the factory Yanmar backhoes came with a sub-frame. That should tell us something.

I don't know if the 950JD kit will work on the Yanmar. If you are able and willing to do the modifications, the 950 kit would be a good place to start.

As you are probably aware, Kelly makes the backhoe for Koyker.

You can modify anything to fit anything but I would save my money and take it to the local welding shop and have them build one for your tractor. Absolutely nothing fancy or complicated about a sub frame.

These are questions that the dealer you are buying from should be able to answer or find out for you. The largest Yanmar that Kelley(Koyker manufacture) builds a 750 frame kit for is the YM226. That is an optional kit. Not a required kit. Kelley is very good about requiring a frame kit if it is neccessary . The YM330 shouldn't need a subframe. If you have more questions feel free to contact me I'm a Koyker & Kelley dealer.

Just checking len, But I seem to remember you telling me that a 226 is the compatible "american" tractor to the 1820. I was wanderind if that subframe for the koyker 75 backhoe would fit my 1820D? Or would the 1820D be able to handle the 75 model?
Thanks, rccoyote

Thanks for the info.
I still have a couple of questions.
I am not familiar with how a hoe adapts/connects to the frame mount. If I go to a welding shop,I'm sure they can determine how to make a frame that will adapt to the tractor; however, I do not know if they will know how to hook it up to the hoe. Is there some kind adapter that goes between the hoe and the frame mount?
Anyone have any picture or drawings of how this works. I am concerned that a welding shop may make a mount that is not engineered properly and cause stress on the tractor - even if it is well made. Also, need to know what kind of quick release mechanism to build onto the frame (or hoe???).

Second question. If the Koyker/Kelly literature does not show a frame kit, does that mean that one is not necessary, or, could it mean that they were not able to build one? As an example, the Koyker KB85 shows miscellaneous adapters for my Kubota L4200 but does not show a frame kit.
I have not decided whether to buy the KB85 or the KB75 but would prefer to put one on my YM330D. It has a very healthy Loader frame that spans from the front of the tractor to the rear axles so I believe that I could have a hoe frame attached some way to it. If I can not get one to adapt to the Yanmar, I’ll put it on the Kubota.
Any further help with this would be appreciated.

I would not put the KB85 model on a 336. That is a big hoe and has the power to wrinkle that tractor up.
