So...I'm in my local hangout last week and I hear a guy talking about this guy he's working for who told him to throw everything away in his old barn. He found a ARPS backhoe attachment that still worked so he took it home and put it up for sale. After a quick introduction, I was on my way over to his house on my tractor to pick it up! I got it for less than 1,500 and while it worked, the Hydraulic connections didn't fit my JD, so we had to chain it up so the arm didn't swing while I drove it the 4 miles home (see first pic). Then when I got the correct connections I burst a hose when I set my SCV lever wrong (haven't installed the PB ports yet). So you can see in the 2nd pic where I'm resting the bucket on my motorcycle lift since I can't retract the forward arm. I fixed the hose and got it all down on the ground today and have started removing the hoses and pistons. My plan is to strip it down, sand blast it and paint it JD green, then stencil 'John Neere' on the side...I just need to come up with a cool emblem beside the deere...... BH_001.jpgBH_002.jpg

Keep us updated on your progress. I purchased a used backhoe for my Kioti CK20 and it needs some valve work. Works fine just leaks a little fluid while at work.

BH_003.jpgSo for the last two nights, I've been coming home and cutting wood until it gets too dark outside and then moving to the garage and removing at least one hydraulic cylinder before calling it a day. Last night took me over and hour and tonight took me longer. The pin at the foot is a bolt and nut and I had to use my torch tonight (last night I used my invertor, but it took forever) and the 1" pin at the top wouldn't budge for anything. I cut the top of the cotter pins off and punched them through (quicker than last night when I got them both out intact) and then took 30 minutes to get the hinge pin out. Worst thing of all is that my wife walked in when I cracked open a beer after I got the pin out and goes "so, you are out here drinking beer"...ugh

With very little modification, a logsplitter makes a great backhoe pin press:thumbsup:

That looks like a great deal for what you paid. In my area that would have sold for twice that.

Looks like its got a pretty good reach also, I'm wondering if it came with a frame or if you plan on making one. I've read when used on CUT's you need to use a frame to minimize stress on tractor where the trans bolts up to the engine.

Funny on the beer thing, that has happened to me so many times! Women seem to have such timing.
