Hey guys ,
I was running backhoe today and noticed it was a lot slower and a noticeable loss of power , I usually run about 18-1900 rpm and it reacts good , was at 22-2300 today and not good power or responsiveness, I am about 20 hrs over on my hydraulic oil and filters change could this be the problem ? I hope , thanks Dan, yes tractor was warmed up and I did check hyd level

Filter certainly could be an issue. Does the backhoe run off a remote valve on the tractor or is it power beyond setup where you have to hook the lines off the tractor together when not using backhoe?

If it runs off of remote, could possibly be valve spool is not moving enough to allow full flow.

Another question would be is the loader operating normally? If not, then filter is a great place to start.

If you have diverted valves to run the BH make sure they are all the way in or out as required. Also try re-seating the hydraulic quick connectors.

Filters would be my first thing to replace. Be sure that you find all of them. On my New Holland backoe, I have 3 hydraulic filters. Two are easy to find under the tractor, the third is inside the tank and a real pain to replace. You have to drain the tank to get to it!!!

If you haven't bought your filters yet, be sure to shop around. I went to my dealer for the first time and felt violated by what they charged me. NAPA was cheaper, so I bought from them after that, but then I tried Amazon, and they where significantly cheaper. Ebay will sometimes have some filters for less then Amazon, but shipping takes longer and you have to factor in shipping charges, which sometimes makes Amazon a better deal, and sometimes Ebay is still worthwhile.

Wix Filters is what I use on all my stuff. They make most of the factory filters, so the biggest difference is the color of the filter. The part number is the same for all of my stuff from the factory filters to the Wix filters.
