Backhoe Backhoe won't come all the way back?

Hey guys, I have a question.

I've had my CK25 for a couple of years now, but only have 70 hours on it.

I was using it last weekend, and when I was done with the backhoe, I tried to put the lock pin in place. It wouldn't go.

Looking it over, the boom wasn't retracted enough for the holes to line up. Cycling it didn't make it go far enough either.

I ended up having to have the wife insert the pin while I pushed the boom into alignment.

Fluid level checks out.

I have never removed the hoe, or unhooked the hydraulics.

Is there some sort of air bleed procedure to do or something?

Mine will also slump down just a little to make putting the pin in hard. So as soon as curl the boom back all the way I jump off and get the pin in. I would check you pin to see if it has a slight bend in it. It may not be real noticeable, but if you tried to move the boom with the pin in, it will put a small bend in it and that will be enough so that the pin does not line up with the holes. If that is not the problem, check the pins/bolts holding the rams in. I recently broke the top one and did not notice it until I could not pull the backhoe all the way back. Half the pin fell out and the ram was held in by the other half.

I have the same deal. Frankly I think it's just not exact science when they built it. I back up to a tree to push in to line up pin.

I honestly very rarely use the pin. I typically have the hoe resting on the ground. I'm always nervous the mini-boss will come along, pull a lever and let something settle on a foot.
