Backhoe Backhoe?

I was wondering if I could put a hoe on my 2210? I see that you can get them on a BX Kubota, but do not hear much about them on a Deere. I saw one picture of a 2210 with a hoe on another site, the owner also made an enclosed cab which looked very nice. I have heard that the rear ends are aluminum on the 2210. I have also heard of 3-point and sub-frame mounts, could someone please set this topic straight. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm not sure if you can put a BH on that tractor, but I would think you can. A 3pt backhoe is probably not advisable as there is a lot of stress on the 3pt and rear of the tractor, as it simply hooks to the 3pt hitch system putting a lot of stress on that area. A sub frame BH on the other hand generally is connected by a framework that hooks into brackets at the read and runs up to the front of the tractor and hooks in brackets connected to the loader so there is more stability and a spread of the stress over a larger area. Check with Buhler, Bush Hog, Woods dealers among others to see if there is a BH made for your tractor. I sure wouldn't go with 3pt unless you were using a utility tractor of much greater size as a BH can really move a tractor around when it gets a going. John

Do a search for "woods" or check out this thread in the Kubota forums. Apparently Woods is coming out with a backhoe for the subCUT tractors very shortly.
