\"Bad Boy\" ZTR mowers...

Anyone know anything about them?

I've done a bit of reading and seems some people say crummy machine, others say fantastic machine.

My father in law saw one today and said it looked like it was built like a tank. I like a diesel motor and seems the top two models have a CAT diesel.

Any thoughts on a CAT diesel verses Kubota? (I have no idea of any pricing differences yet)

My uncle had one while he was mowin' for money. They rarely had any problems. If they did, they took it back to the factory that's around 60miles from here and they fixed it right up.

Best I remember, theirs had a 23hp Kawaski (sp?) on it.

I never heard him say a bad thing about it.

The Cat diesel powered units have a HUGE additional cost. I test drove a Ferris with a Cat diesel last summer before I bought my 3rd ZTR. Although I liked the Cat diesel, there was no way I was going to pay the extra 3k premium for it. I tested, at my home, Skag, Dane, JD, Kubota, Ferris, Bad Boy, and Grasshopper. If your area to be mowed is smooth, with no bumps, any will do you fine. All of the above are tough and strong mowers, but most are tougher than I am. Since I seem to have invisible pot holes all over my large yard, I own 3 diesel powered Grasshopper front mount mowers. They ride much better than any of the others, even than the Ferris that has suspension. Also, the 22 hp Kubota diesel seems to have just as much power when using it as my 28 hp Kubota diesel and it gets better fuel economy.
