I got a new tractor and had dealer move my 3rd function diverter (electric from surplus center). When I went to use it, it would open but not close. I switched hoses and it would then close but not open. So I guess 1 hose is not being pressurized. I checked connections( they had wired backwards) and it clicks on either side. Anything else I should check or is valve bad(less than 6 mo old)? Do they make a manual valve? Thanks

Can you make a jumper set and use 12 v to activate the solenoid valve? Some of the valves activate both solenoids at the same time, changing the flow path of the fluid.

If the valve is bolted down too tight, it may bind.

Might have to clean out the spools in the valve.

Some of the solenoid valves have a manual part of the valve that you can turn, like take the red cap off the solenoid and turn screw and that could manually activate the valve.

It's the surplus center sae8 15gpm double selector valve. Both solenoids click (and I tried each one seperately). I'll check how tightly it's connected to
the mount and disconnect the hose from valve that's not working and see if I can see anything wrong. Thanks. (Maybe I should have called it a selector valve rather than diverter?)

Is the valve you have the Item# 9-5117, or the 9-5117A

If you have this valve 9-5117A,

Check your wiring against the data below. What happens with this valve is that one solenoid valve is normally open, and the other solenoid is closed, shifting the fluid from curl to grapple. Both solenoids are powered on at the same time.

In power off state, the curl works normally.

A single switch powers the unit on. Momentary on switch, or an on/off switch.

9-5117A Surplus Center - SAE 8 6 GPM DOUBLE SELECTOR VALVE 12 VDC P15544-2

9-5117 is wired so a single pole double throw, will select which circuit the FEL will control.

A SPDT-CO (Single Pole Double Throw-Center OFF
switch can be used to switch the solenoids.

These solenoids are selected one at a time, and circuit 1 or circuit 2 should be selected before using the FEL valve to control the curl or grapple.

It's the 9-5117. It works now. I loosened the clamp and put one end of the
quick connects in the freezer( they are extremely difficult to connect) to make sure they had a good connection. So much for "quick connect". Thank you for your help-more than once I might add.
