anyone having trouble with their round bale twine. some are hard to get the starting end out and have to cut the wrapper half way down to get the other end out and then tapeing it back together. sometimes i can set it on a paint bucket and work the wrapper down and get the end out. hopeing it comes back up without having to cut and tape it back together.

I always used the inside string and never had it break in the ball. My breaks used to come in the twine arms.

You might have a bad batch. Get another ball of twine from a different lot number

My problems with round bale twine always occur shortly after an automatic switch over to a new ball of twine. It seems to catch during the feed of the first few bales and break. I end up crawling under the baler to feed the twine back thru the twine arms. What's puzzling is how hard I have to yank on the twine to get it feeding again. Very frustrating with all that hay dust falling in your face. But after the first few bales, the twine feeds fine.

On a round baler, don't double the square knot, just single it. It's the knot thats hanging the twine. Now, on a square bailer, I always triple the knot. It will pull through no matter what.

NH sells mega balls of RB twine btw. Thats what I use. over 2 times the footage in one ball and it's blue (what else from NH).

I only have twine in the bailer as a backup if my net has an issue.

Triple knot on square bales????? I use a single true Boy Scout Square knot and do fine, but I do use good twine. My Hesston 4550 baler likes Briden 9600 and nothing else. Tried several other brands and always had breakage.

One question - is it possible the ball was exposed to the sun - if so the UV degrading could be the problem. My COOP stores all their twine inside, with no sun exposure....local TSC stores outside on pallets (under an awning)
