- 3550 Fard Backhoe and a 1948 Farmall Cub,
This year we've had 4 bad tractor or mower accidents that left people dead. I knew 3 of them well. This spring a long time friend and farmer Tommy Pounders was working on his bushhog and had it blocked up. Something caused the lift to drop and his block slipped. He was crushed under the stump jumper. His wife and daughter found him.
Then a highschool friends father 77 was mowing with a ztr near a creek and the mower fell 12 feet landing on top of him in the creek. In the next county a young guy rolled a tractor on top of him a few weeks a ago.
Last night got a call that a friends cousin was bushhogging and died. Not sure of the tractor but he was found by his wife under the running tractor that was in gear and the cutter was still engaged and he wS pinned to the bottom exhaust. Between the cutter and tractor deceased. Most were experienced farmers and operators. Seems like it's been a bad year for this small county
