Has anyone bought the tripple bagger unit for the 2544? It does a great job mulching, but I live in the NW and the grass is frequently wet so thought I'd look into the bagger. Seems a bit pricey and want to make sure that it works good w/o a vac system. Obviously would need the high lift blades.

I recently bought a triple bagger for my GT3100 Cub Cadet. I have only used it once but am very satisfyed with it so far. It comes with 3 high lift blades, but the instruction booklet differs from a sticker on the bagger cover. The sticker says to only install the 2 outside blades and to leave the middle blade (50" deck) with the stock blade. The most difficult part of the installation was changing the blades. It feeds cut grass through very well. The bags feel like they weigh 45 to 50 pounds when it is time to empty them. The high lift blades push the clippings so hard that the clippings are actually compacted into the bags and the bags have to be shook pretty hard to get them empty.

My GT3100 (new) had regular blades. The blades do have a raised or angled back edge that appears to be some what similar to the high lift blades. However, when compared to the high lift blades that came with the bagger there is a distinct difference. Maybe your dealer already made the blade changes for you. My bagger was back ordered for about 5 weeks so I took delivery of the tractor and deck before the bagger arrived and I had the pleasure of changing the blades.

I bought the bagger with my 2544 and it works well. I think they only put one high lift blade on the exit side. It is pricey for what you get.

I never got the high lift blades from my dealer either. He likes the stock mulchers better because they pack more clippings in the bags. I've never had a problem with my rear bagger, it packs a ton of grass into the bags and really makes a nice cut. You're not missing out on anything. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
