Bale Spear Attachment for 400X FEL

Has anybody found a bale spear attachment for the JD 400X FEL for handling 1100-1400# square bales??? My JD dealer can't find a supplier. Custom fab quotes to fit a spear assembly to my pallet fork frame are at $1,000. The forks can lift and do the job if the bales are spaced (otherwise you end up catching and breaking the strings.)

Check with Rankin Equipment They are located in the Pacific Northwest and have lots of equipment to choose from.

Whooee! Thanks for that link. I've been cogitating' over a grapple and a thumb ever since I got my tractor! If the shipping don't eat me up too bad... AKfish

I bought an aftermarket and didn't like it. I went back to my JD dealer and bougth a John Deere hay spike - it is really slick. I can post pics later if anybody cares.

Why can't your dealer get the one made but John Deere?

If you can, I'd like to see a picture of your hay spike attachment. JD still tells me they don't offer a compatible hay spike for the 400X FEL which is used on the new JD 4320 Series. Thanks.
