Finally have been able to get into my fields to bale. First here's the setup Vermeer 605C with "some" belts being new. Hay is Winter rye and Bermuda mix. Very dry and small to medium windrows. With all the rain we got in May I wasn't able to do anything and the hay got overgrown. We'll cut, raked, and started baling. Got first two done and then broke one of the older belts. What happened is the clips tore out of one end. Cut the end off and replaced the clips. All in total lost about an inch to inch and a half in length. After getting back into the field on starting the first bale all belts started slipping. The two outer 10in belts are new and I used them as the length to set the other 5 to the same length +/= 1in. Could that one change make that big of a difference? Or should I be looking at something else? Thanks.

Are you referring to the two on top of the baler that are chain driven? If so then yes there's nothing on them except a little rust from sitting outside over the winter. What I am going to check after work is that the chamber feed rollers are free of debris that shouldn't be there.

Finally making bales. Inner baler belts too far gone so we replaced all belts. Now I finally can finish baling
