Welcome to TBN.
There are 2 sets of knives on your baler. The twine cutoff knives in the knotter area and the plunger and stationary knives in the bale case throat. I presume you mean the plunger knives.
Unless they fell off the machine when you were towing it home, they ought to be easily resharpened. I just crawl in there with a 4" grinder once in a while. Others remove them and tune then up. If there's a chip in them, weld a filler into the space and sharpen it up. Use a nickel rod for extra credit. The reason to NOT remove them is to avoid messing with the spacing. Most knives can be turned around and the other side used (once sharpened).
Even the twine knives can be sharpend. The OEM knives are probably rivetted in, New ones come with bolts so you don't have to remove the wiper arms to get the job done. These knives are pretty cheap.
The reason to pay a dealer (IMHO) is to keep them in business so that when I need a part from a place other than TSC, the dealer is there with a part in stock, 1-2 days away via UPS, or has a fresh pot of coffee and free advice. My TSC store and Ralph's "Discount Chinese Tractor Parts, Hot Pizza by the Slice and Pap Smears" operation doesn't have the sperience sometimes needed, so I do my best to keep a dealer feed and clothed...
