I want to buy a water ballasted roller to level out a few acres of field that the moles have had a party in. I only have a little Massey Ferguson 35 to pull it, and I was going to get a 30 inch diameter 5 foot one, but have had a sudden thought. The rear wheel track on the tractor is 6 feet, won't a five foot roller miss the tyre tracks and leave them as indentations when rolling? Should i get a six foot roller? is that too big for the 35? Or is there an easy way to offset mount a five footer so it rolls they rear tyre tracks? maybe that's what a swinging draw bar is for, I am a townie and new to this lark :)

Thanks.

If you get a water ballasted roller you can adjust the weight between full and empty. You should be able to pull it. Rolling weight is easy compared to lifting.

Unless you are going to be pulling the roller while the field is wet I would not worry about tire tracks.
