I have a no name chinese backhoe and one of the banjo seals leaks. Anybody know where I can pick some up? And how would I measure it to make sure I go the right size?

Do those use copper crush washers like the older tractors do?

I bought an assortment kit from Harbor Freight awhile back.
Contained various sizes.

I haven't pulled them off yet. But I think they are brass with rubber ring on the inside. I've tightened then three or four time and since I'm using 3/4" drive and 18" swivel head, I'm afraid I might strip the thread.

I had one stubborn banjo fitting that I was scared to tighten to much - just like you. So I put a torue wrench on it to see just how much force I was applying. Surprised me that I had only about 50 ft-lbs on it. Cranked it carefully to 65, leak stopped.

The Chinese rubber coated washers however, are not of high enough quality to depend upon a 2nd time. If you have to remove one for any reason, it's a good idea to simply replace with new. Most Chinese tractor dealers have bins full of them, I'm guessing maybe 40-50 cents each for Chinese one time washers, maybe a buck or two for aftermarket reusables. Obviously, piece rate is cheaper if you can find them in bulk. Google for "metric sealing washer " and you'll find stuff like this: Sealing Washer, 12mm or 14mm ID, Rubber Seal - 034 MOTORSPORT

But look in the spare parts kit that came with your tractor first. There might be some in there you didn't notice. Mine were in the bag with the spare O-rings and seals.

Measure the outside diameter of the bolt. (metric).

You need to watch the thickness of the washer if you choose to go aftermarket.

I've seen those. I tried using them on banjo fittings on an old hyd valve that was not made to be ORB.. but had to use the orb fittings with those washer backet up orings since i could not get the correct oem banjo fittings that used the copepr crush washers.. etc.

You have to remove it and see what you have. If it's copper, just go to an auto store. If it is the washer with the o-ring inside, it's called a bonded seal. Go to a good hydraulic shop for them. Bring the bolt with you. Banjo bolts are either BSPP or metric. they both take a different bonded seal.

Replace them with Dowty seals or Stat o Seals. These are metalic washers with a rubber o-ring bonded to the inside circumference. I have replaced all of the chinese rubber washers on my chinese back hoe and tractor and have had no more leaks. Chip at ARTRAC first got them for me. I later did an online search and found a supplier.
