Fellow Posters,
I just wanted to pass on some information to fellow Ford 7.3L Power Stroke owners about the trick (in my opinion) for the older-style 7.3L diesel. I just installed a Speed Loader Six Gun tuner on my pickup and sent my original Big Hoss chip back to Banks for a reflashing and removal of the top speed limiter (don't ask). I already had the Power Pack system, so with the stacked combination the truck has 140-160 horsepower or so more and about 260-280 lb ft more torque at the rear wheels. Man, what a difference!! Even over my PowerPack this system is great. The truck runs so much better and smoother, and so far I have seen an average increase in MPG by about 1/2 or so in mostly local commuting. I am not into advertising, but I have been impressed enough to mention this, in the event that others might wish to check into this system. It is expensive but worth it, and a lot cheaper than a new truck. Incidentally, a friend of mine who works at the Borg Warner plant says they have been doing some bench testing on the new 6.4L diesel Ford (2007) engine that is to come in the new 250. I do not know the details nor can I verify except to say he is honest and seemingly a reliable person; but he said some major issues have been noted in bench testing of bearings and turbo parts for that engine at just over 1000 hours. Not good. Just thought I would pass this on, for what it's worth. I have not heard how the engine is doing in its existing service application in the cab over style trucks.
