We have had a week of nice weather, so it was time to start working on the spring yard clean up.

I used:

Tractor
Push lawn mower
Cheap weed eater with the blade attached (Ryobi)
Real weed eater (Echo)
Chain saw
Walk behind tiller

Since everything but the tractor has been sitting since the fall, I was very surprised that everything STARTED with no problems and ran like champs.

I am sure that the season will go down hill from here.

That's nice;it's snowing to beat the band here! Can't complain though, pretty much the first significant snow of the year. Our gardens/food plots go in about June 1.

Congratulations.

But yes, Murphy has taken note and will extract payment later

I too am watching snow pile up today. Even so, I'm not being totally sarcastic when I ask - They've been sitting idle for what, something like 10 weeks ? :)

Goes to show if you take care of your equipment it will take of you...and you did.

Hard to get in the mood when nor'easter kicking on the door...almost 1" an hour which will increase.

Did you use any fuel stabilizer?

Ethanol free?

Tanks full or empty?

Yes for fuel stabilizer (couldn't tell you the brand. I bought it either at the BORG or an Autozone). No matter the time of year, every time I fill the gas cans now (we usually have 3 x 6 gallons containers), I add some stabilizer.

Ethanol free? No.

Tanks were full or part full--I did not make an effort to drain the tanks before putting the equipment up in the fall.

Good on you! In my experience, FULL is actually best, especially if you don't use ethanol-free. The less room for moisture-laden air the better.

Obviously, you engage in good maintenance practices for your equipment. I have an older Weed Eater (Electrolux) push mower that I bought from Wal-Mart probably 10 years ago. I think it cost me about $100 new. I sharpen the blade, change the oil, and clean the (still original) spark plug. It starts first pull every time. There's no "magic" to keeping equipment running, just regular maintenance.
