Bark Buster Logsplitter attachment finished!!

I actually finished this before x-mas, but just got around to posting pics of it. I Found it on craigslist a little worse for wear, and I tore it apart, fixed, sandblasted, and painted it and now it's running like a champ. I've attached a before and after photo.
I've done 1/2 cord already and it was a breeze. Yes yes, I know how dangerous these are, and why they quit manufactoring them. But after using it for about a month I was thinking they were crazy to quit making them, until my brother stopped by to see it. This guy works for NASA and after showing him how it worked he almost broke his arm trying to do the first log? He didn't place the log on the bar that is a brace to keep the log from spinning and if the log caught, it would've snapped around and broke his arm or worse. Oh well, there is a reason some people should sit behind a desk!!

yes I know I'm in for a bunch of ridicule for using this, but I spent a lot of time fixing it up and I like it

Nice work -- I did not think about it before but the wood must have to be of a minimum length to split safetly -- what is that length?

Thanks guys. I usually cut my wood around 2' and the BB handles them fine. If you look close you can see that the brace bar is slightly bent in toward the splitting cone. I was going to straighten this out, but realized they probably did it to allow them to split shorter logs. Turns out I was exactly right. I've split logs up to 5' long and as thick as I can find. The trick is not to split them in the middle, but rather start on the outside and peel them bit by bit. I'm getting spoiled and using it to make kindling too
