Hey guys

Thank for all your input. I put them both back in and all is good until a try and turn them. I can turn them both with a small crescent wrench but it's not going to happen with just my hand. Also I cleaned up the rods with a little bit of emery cloth and the polished up nice. Is there any way you would no to clean the baked on oil off of the spool itself? Just wondering I cleaned it out and soaked it over night in my friends engine shop soda tank stuff. It came out nice and clean on the outside but the inside of the bore is smooth but looks a little dirty????? What do you think? Thank again Nic

what you're seeing is the oil that had impregnated the cast and then got hot causing a "glaze". if you have no scores and your spools are straight you should be ok. i didn't see anywhere a mention of checking your relief valve seals.pending on the type of valve they could be simple as o-rings ang back-ups assuming you're valve is equipped with one, be sure to check all orb plugs and fittings to see how they fared rule of thumb is to replace all rubber in this situation. hopefully all works out for you. if you have a relief valve and you're not comfortable checking it let someone who is they are pretty important and easily fouled up pending on the complexity.

Thank for your reply, and that makes a lot of sense about it being glazed. I will do a little more research this weekend and let you no what I find, but thank again for your time. Nic
