Battery Corrosion on a 2210?

With all this talk about the JD batteries leaking, has anybody had one on a 2210? Didn't know if there was a history and whether I should be on the look-out with mine.

It's not so much model specific, it's primarily a function of battery quality, and the environment in which it lives. The gel filled Optimas are the clear choice to avoid this. If you ever experience this, you will regret not changing it as preventive maintenance.

<font color="green">The battery that came with my 2210 really made a mess of my tractor. Even corroded the plastic hold down clamp much to my surprise. One would think that a part in close proximity to the vent caps would be made from an acid resistant plastic.

My property is rather hilly and that may have contributed to the problem. Only wished I had switched out the battery sooner, like day one!

I replaced the battery in my 2210 with an Optima that I ordered from Remy in Milwaukee.

I used the Optima yellow top D51 in my 2210.
