Battery disconnect switches on batteries....

/ Battery disconnect switches on batteries.... #11
My 7753 Bobcat only gets used once every couple months. Every time it gets used I am cleaning the positive terminal because it is covered with corrosion. The positive battery cable terminal is made of brass. More than half of it has been eaten away while the machine is just setting. I have been wondering if the BOSS system is drawing electricity and if stopping that electricity flow would stop the corrosion. Then I wonder if shutting off power to the BOSS system for long periods of time would damage it.

We have a 7753 with the BOSS system, sometimes sits for months, don't have the corrosion. So, don't think issue is related to BOSS system. I do however have nothing nice to say about the "BOSS system"

I put one on my dump truck to the negative side because that is what the instructions said to do and it doesn't for some reason effect the computer , or clock in the radio ? but you can't start the truck. I have a fork lift that one day out of the blue tried starting it's self good thing I wasn't far away and pulled a battery cable off before the starter fried. I had the shut off pulled out. It was a short in the key switch so I installed a push button for starting and disconnected the wire to the key for the starter.
