The last two times I started my JD 770 the red dash board light indicating the battery has been flashing. A quick look at my owners manual states a bad battery or a potential alternator problem. Now this old tractor fires right up without any hesitation and the lights were as bright as the noon day sun. Both times I shut it off and stared it again and the light was off.
Maybe a loose wire? Anyway, can someone tell me how to trouble shoot an alternator? I would like to at least eliminate this suspect before I potentially have a problem.
