About twenty years ago I purchased a refurbished two stroke Ryobi gas trimmer from Harbor Freight, I never cared for the the pain of loading line on the original head. I put on one of those as seen on TV after market heads with simplified line loading and it worked well for many years. The problem was the company that made the specialized line needed for that new head went out of business.
Instead of messing around and looking for a new head that would fit and use available line I just bought a new trimmer and put the Ryobi up in the rafters of my barn. To make a long story short the other day I happened across some of that old obsolete line the Ryobi used and picked it up cheap, took the old Ryobi out of the rafters, put in that new line , filled her up with gas and she started right up. I trimmed and burned two tanks of fuel with no problems. I would have to give the old Ryobi a thumbs up.
