Battery powered yard tools

I have the Ego tools too and love it: 16" chainsaw, straight trimmer, blower, tree trimmer, 3 4.0Ah batteries and a fast charger. Have had them for 1.5 years. One battery went bad and all was needed was a phone call and 10 days later UPS delivered a new one and was told to send the defective one to the local recycling facility. I was impressed.

I have a Ego 14 in. Has a nice feel to it, light, well balanced. The little I use a saw it's great. And the best part is no more pulling your --- off when you need it to cut one stupid little branch. I'd never buy another gas saw.

I have the Ryobi 40v line. Weed Eater with changeable heads (Expand-it). I have the weed eater head, brush cutter head, adjustable hedge trimmer head, and pole saw with extension. I also own the 40v blower and the 20" mower. I would call the 40v "near gas" power. I like them because the kids can just pop in the batteries and have a working tool, no oil and gas to mix.

We like them but I will say that my wife strongly dislikes the weed eater, but she's comparing it to our Stihl gas powered weed eater and for the cost it's not really an apples to apples comparison.

Ryobi also just added a battery powered riding mower and a 20" self propelled 40v mower. Overall I've been very happy with the tools, I did have a battery go bad and it was replaced under warranty free after a phone call.

Overall I like the Ryobi 40v line and would recommend them since they back their product up from my experience and they seem to always be adding to/improving their line up. They just updated their handle design on their 20" push mowers and I wish I had the new model. :)

The Dewalt 40v chainsaw works good for its size. You're not going to start a logging company with one of them, but that's not the intended use. It's really handy for cutting up limbs and smaller logs for firewood. It's nice to make a cut, set it down, pick it up, make another cut, etc., without having to start, kill, restart a motor.

The Dewalt 40v blower works well for small jobs. It certainly won't replace a backpack blower, but for blowing off sidewalks, patios, etc., it works fine.

I just ordered the Dewalt 40v hedge trimmer (Amazon Prime days deal). So I'll see how that one works. I don't have any heavy duty hedge trimming to do, so I suspect it will be just fine.
