BBQ covers to cover tires for those not fortunate enough to keep their tractors covered

So yeah, anyone tried using BBQ covers to cover the tires from harmful solar rays? My rear tires are 40x16 and this would work

The sun can be hard on tires. I use a large BBQ cover for my truck plow that sits out all winter.
I am fortunate that I can store my tractor in a garage.

Wouldn't UV rays damage hydraulic hoses first? Never changed a tire that wasn't damaged. Weather cracked hoses allows water to rust out the wire braid.

Not to sidetrack but I'd like to add this 'hose sleeve' for hose protection. 1.25" I.D. Nylon Hose Sleeve for 1/2" Hydraulic Hose Protec NHS-125 | Hose Sleeve | Hydraulic Hose and Hose Assemblies | Hydraulics | www.surpluscenter.com there are sizes for single and double hoses.

Anyway good idea to put at least something over tires that sit parked. (bucket truck, skidder, trailers, backhoe, ... BTDT)

There are cheap black can liners sized for 55 gal drums. My neighbor uses 'em at the 'RenFest' and gave me the idea to slit them to go over some larger tires. (F-450 rims, etc) If using the HFT tarps for the biggest stuff I prefer the silver ones for sunlight reflection and long life. (IMO Winter UV light is as bad as in Summer.)

btw, I use fluid film or cooking spray on rusty rim edges, both are easy on rubber. Formula 303 is tops for all surfaces, rubber, poly-carb, vinyl. https://www.amazon.com/303-30320-Pr...s=303+bulk&qid=1618107431&s=automotive&sr=1-1 IMO it's like Stihl, Deere, Kubota, etc the best stuff is worth the few $$ more.

I would say they do but mine have a liner over them for wear (and sun I guess) protection.
