I bought a 1982 Mainline BCS 715 (ACME AL 290 motor) a few weeks ago and the engine seems to run rough when running at anything above an idle...
I have taken all the jets out of the carb and soaked them in carb cleaner, tried with the air filter and without, and played with all the adjustments I can find. I have the engine and carb break down from Earthtools to make sure I took everything apart I could find... I have replaced the spark plug also.
The funny thing to me is that it idles nice and smooth but as soon as you give in more throttle it kinda sputters and runs rough. It does not stall though and if you load it (rototilling) it runs better. I seems to me that it is getting too much fuel but I don't know for sure. I have also cleaned out the bowl and screen going into it...
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Ideas on what could be wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Tim
