Default BCS 730
What is the largest mower and largest wheels I can get and use on my stock BCS 730 with 8.5 kohler command pro? Have lots of forbs, several acres, to mow black mustard, reed canary grass, purple loosestrife and phragmites. I'd love to get an upgrade with 3rd working fwd speed but can't find a used machine around where I live. Can 730 handle 71" duplex or the largest other type mowers or too underpowered?

Sickle mowers take very little horsepower because they don't chop up the material. Your 730 can definitely run a 47", would likely run a 59", and might run a 71". Remember to keep the RPMs around half throttle or below. You can run any size tire you'd like to increase ground speed, but taller tires will point the sickle bar down. You'll need to cut the material higher to keep the bar level. Also, Sickle bars do not like rocks, T-posts, random scrap metal junk, etc. If you're mowing in an area with lots of obstacles, be very careful, and learn how to repair broken sections and guards.

We have a BCS 59" Duplex sickle bar on a BCS 749 with 12" tires and a PTO extension. No problems mowing with the tip of the cutters set about two inches off the ground even though the mower is pointed down.

Oh man I'd love to have that combo large tire 739-853 with a 3rd working speed and a wide duplex and extension. That's the ticket right there it sounds like!

Will 24" BCS mainline snowblower with splined shaft mount to BCS 730 with 3 jaw pto? What's a used 24" mainline blower like that worth? How does it perform vs BCS newer blowers? Thanks for any info.

Mainline imported BCS machine until 1982. After 1982, they imported SEP. If it's a BCS, it'll mount with a $60 adapter. If it's an SEP, it will likely not mount without a custom made adapter. Price depends on if it's a BCS or SEP. If a BCS, $200-400. If an SEP, not much at all as they are not supported in the US.
