BCS 732 & Berta Rotary Plow Issue

Hey All -

I recently purchased a used BCS and Berta Rotary Plow. We were using it to break new ground - it had been over grown with small trees and brambles, no sod. Things were going great, and then the plow stopped spinning when it would encounter any resistance other than just soil. If you disengaged and re-engaged the clutch, it would give it a go again, but would again stop at even a minor challenge.
We have adjusted the clutch cord to no avail.
I switched to the rototiller this morning to see if that would work - it does.
So, it's looking like the problem is in the plow.
Does anyone have any suggestions that we can try in house to get this guy up and running again?

I sometimes have the same situation with my Berta and BCS 853. In my case, the PTO linkage is more sensitive to disengaging with the Berta, but not with other implements. It is something I'd like to research further, but have not taken the time to do the trouble shooting. I called EarthTools and they said my PTO engagement slider may be getting worn. I'm not sure that is the answer as nothing else makes the PTO jump out of engagement except the Berta plow. The problem occurs much less if I push the PTO rod until it is firmly against the stop. I may also see if the PTO rod holder on the handlebar can be configured so as to more tightly grip the PTO rod. It could be the Berta plow is creating some sort of vibration/undulation that shakes the PTO rod enough to disengage. If so, then this could create more wear on the PTO engagement parts and nobody wants that to keep happening because it necessitates a transmission rebuild to fix.

At any rate, it has made me more cautious and circumspect in always using the clutch to engage or re-engage the PTO. No slamming the PTO in gear!
