I just picked up a 737, 10hp ACME with a few attachments, 38" mower w/bagger, tiller, snow blower and blade. Traded for taking a bunch of dead pine trees down, about 4 hrs work, seemed like a good deal to me. Had been sitting around for several years, changed fluids, cleaned carb and it runs smooth. The shifter detent was ripped out of its sleeve so I rigged up a spring plunger temporarily to hold it in gear, prob need a new shift lever unless I can fab and weld another sleeve on, hate to rip the machine apart.

My question is, this tractor has the spline/flat 3 jaw pto, the mower has newer style tapered 3 dog pto, do I need an adaptor? I would think so since they really don't engage properly, the previous owner says he used it that way, I tried it and it slips. If I need the adaptor, then what was the flat 3 jaw pto used for?

Thanks,

Bill

Hi brckss2 😊

Congratulations on your new tractor, and welcome to the 2-wheel tractors forum 😉

As so often when it comes to BCS tractors, Joel at Earth Tools is the one to ask 👍

The adapter that you need, might be this one called "Adapter 1":
