Since the tanks are so large the valves are buried and they have an extension lever/rod to reach back to the actual valve. Several years ago that rod assembly came loose on mine, but I was able to tighten the supports again once I dug into it to see how it worked. I think my valve is like this Valve-Shut [692 8] for Briggs and Stratton Lawn Equipment | eReplacement Parts Or maybe this Valve-Fuel Shut Off [698182] for Lawn Equipment | eReplacement Parts and is controlled by this shut off rod Rod-Fuel Shut-Off [492374] for Briggs and Stratton Lawn Equipment | eReplacement Parts
