BCS 852 w/leaking axle seal

Hi guys,

Anyone here ever replaced an axle seal on an 852 or similar BCS? From page 6 of the parts diagram it looks like the axle and bearings are in their own separate housing that can simply be unbolted from the side of the transmission case, then the axle splines should just slip out of the differential. The repair manual does not make it clear if the whole case needs to be torn down. Anyone know? Thanks,

Sorry I can't be any help with your question. But how many hours does your machine have with an issue like this.

Hi! You are right! The axle come with the small housing. But Not easy ! After. to remove bearings(two) snapring . I Think ! Bearings are press fit on axle need press for remove and fit. I think the best for you phone at a BCS dealer . May be they can remove bearings replace the seal and press the bearings for reasonable price. Good Luck ! Oldmech

Not sure how many hours it's got since I got it used, but my guess is around 400. It is just one axle slightly seeping, enough to make the brake not work on that side.

Hi! For remove no problem. But for replace the axle assembly May be ! You have to remove the tranny cover (part 17) for to align the differential with axle spline. more easy Right side and left side are dfferent. Good luck ! Oldmech
