It's gonna be cheaper to buy a new adapter. I tried to buy the parts to fix a male quick coupler tang and the shaft was more than a new tang.
The Tractor's fix is pretty easy. You drive out two roll pins on the slider lever, slide out the engagement shaft, and slide off the PTO. Inspect the slider lever. If it has an undue amount of wear, you should replace or repair it as well as the PTO. I had a local welding shop carefully weld a bead on it and grind it back down to round. Take the opportunity to really clean out all the grease from the socket while you're in there. Not enough consideration is given to keeping the socket clean. If the grease is never cleaned out, it ends up making a bang-up abrasive slurry that will cause alot of premature wear on the PTO components.
Reverse the steps to put it back together. Depending on the age of your machine, it will either have a ball and spring inside the PTO shaft or on the outer housing. This is what locks your PTO engaged. Don't forget them, or you'll not be able to keep the implement engaged.
