I have a 853 with the disel engine and happy with my many accessories. I am considering getting the root/potato plow. Does anyone have any experience with this item. I have 4 raised beds each 80' and 3 rows of potatoes on 2' centers in each bed. The spacing is close to maximize production but am concerned if the plow is too wide or how effective it will be.

All input is appreciated.

Hey farm,

It would work fine. You can see my video on youtube.com of one on a BCS 730. Your 853 would be even more effective. I plant mine on 30 inch centers and have PLENTY of room to work. 24 inch centers should work.

Thanks Bill I have been working in the greenhouse the last few day and been away from my computer. I have talked to Joel at Earthtools and he uses one on his raised beds. Joel did say it would help if you start back enough to get the blade down in the ground before getting to the potatoes. I will get one before I start to harvest. I think it would also work on my garlic.

Without this BCS I would have to go back to a small family garden.
