I acquired 4 I beams 6"x4"x4"x 1/4" X10 feet long and am wondering what kind of project I can make for my my 3Pt hitch or other tractor related purpose. Any ideas??? What would you use them for? I have a welder and a saw...

All four of them would make a great bridge. But if you don't need a 10 foot bridge, then maybe using one for a drag?

Can you weld two of them together so you have two that are 20 feet long? Then put them into the ground at your entrance and use them for posts on either side? They would wrap really nice to give you a box look. If it was me, I might consider ripping some James Hardie siding to wrap them so they would look like wood, but be strong and never need any maintenance. It would be easy to run conduit through them and have lights too!!! Maybe wrap the bottom with rock for a really awesome look.

I have sooo many trees at the entrance the Extraordinary entrance way probably wouldn't even be noticed amongst the trees..The drive is at quite an incline and surrounded by trees....I thought about this also before I had the steel to build an entranceway..

I have a coupla 20 foot 12x6 I beams that I use as a "hoist" to work under vehicles. I place a 10-12" log across under the middle of them and drive on one end. When they teeter I place more blocks under the end that I drove onto and back up. This gives me some extra room when changing oil etc without depending on my flimsy store bought ramps. You would have to cap the topside to give you a wider driving area but some 2x12's should work.

I would use it for a gate in my shop - something to hang a hoist from etc. Actually, better for garage if I had one:(

Dump Cart to pull behind your tractor?

Carry-All?

Frame to hang your loader from when it's not on the tractor?

If you have a tall shop you could use the beams to build a second story loft for storage or for an office.

How about a gantry crane for your shop (after you build a pulverizer!)
