Ok, reading all these posts about chipers got me fired up again. Two nearby dealers carry BearCat 73454 chippers. The Kubota dealer has stock and is asking ~$3400 for the chipper. The closer John Deere dealer has no stock but will order one and sell it for ~$3300, since he has to order it, I can get it in orange.
I figure if my Kubota 7610 can handle the backhoe, it can handle a 600 pound chipper.
The Kubota dealer said their local distributor (probably the same distributor for the John Deere dealer) has stocked up on current inventory as the factory has announced a big increase, almost $1000, due to steel prices. (I'm seeing these steel increases on everything.) So, if I'm in the market I ought to act soon.
While I'm a tinkerer, I'm not willing to tinker a new chinese unit just to get it to work the way it ought to in the first place.
So, the question of the day is: is this a reasonable BearCat price?
