Beaver VS Snowblow advice

After all the snow this year.. time to invest in a snowblower for the Beaver. Thinking of 4-5Ft in size on the 3pt. I have the PTO reverser and I also have a Front PTO w/ electric clutch from my Woods mower.

Any suggestions on a good size for this tractor, we get a lot of snow and I don't want to get something the Beaver cant handle.

What size are you guys running ? 3Pt or front mount?

You'll find that snowblowers can draw a lot of power depending on the snow condition. A general rule-of-thumb is you'd like to have at least 1/3 hp available for every inch of snowblower width. I think the S370 (KE70) has around 13hp available at the PTO so something around 40 inches wide is about right. 4' is probably pushing it but some people are running them successfully, or at least they claim to be. I have a 42" single-stage front mount blower and it will drag my KE75 (15 hp PTO) to its knees in packed snow in 1st gear low range. For fluffy snow it does fine.

I have a Mitsubishi MT180D (very similar to your S370) and have good results using a 60" rear blower.
I do not suggest using front PTO as you'll have a real oddball system, also all your forward speeds are too fast for most snow conditions.
One rule of thumb is 6" wider than your track, and if snow is deeper than your power you soon learn tricks or work arounds.
In deep snow I take 1/2 cuts (like over 5") and at the curb I lift the blower to blow the top half with 2nd pass for lower 1/2 and follow with 1/2 passes.

I have a small 7hp 24" walk behind blower, and yes you learn tricks fast when your blower can't handle the truth!
