THe problems you describe, and the problems the new owner describes are related to that B&S Intek motor. I can't tell you how many of those B&S motors we have been into, whereas I can count on one finger hoe many of the Kohlers we have been into.
The belt coming off may be due to a pulley problem. There is a Cub Cadet service advisory out about this and can be fixed free of charge.
The Z-Force is the best residential unit on the market today in my opinion.
