They do make battery disconnects that you can install to keep this from happening, but I would just remove the ground from the battery and see if it is ok the next time you use it. If the battery holds up the next time when you put the ground back on, then you have a drain that will need fixing.
My MIL told the dealership that she had a new battery in her car, but under inspection, it was 4 years old. Look at the battery and see if somebody marked it for a date of install. Might give you a hint of the age, and taking it in for a load test after a good night of charging wouldn't be too bad of an idea.
