I had trouble starting my tractor earlier this spring and pull-started it with my truck. I've done that several times before, but this time it didn't work terribly well--guess because it was cold out.
So, after it's started, I couldn't shift gears. Got it in first just because of the rear wheels rolling so the clutch was unnecessary. Seems like my clutch linkage is adjusted as much as it can be and I still can't engage the clutch w/o gears grinding.
Did I glaze the clutch?
If so, do I have to replace it?
If not, what do I do? Just sand it a little?
Or, was the clutch going out in the first place, unrelated to pull-starting the tractor? (I know, this is a hypothetical/theoretical question...)
How much should I expect to pay for a clutch?
