so i was digging some posts. the high pressure line went so it was pissing fluid while i pulled the auger out of the ground. i got it out and drove it back to the garage. it was still pissing fluid at that point. shut it off and took the line off to have it repaired. had a place weld it, i put it all back together (like i did the last time it happened) and when i started it up i have maybe 5% pressure. i bled every line i could. the high pressure line that was pissing fluid before now just dribbles it even when i operate the hydraulics. the pump seems fine, its just a basic pump with two impellers (i think) inside spinning off the engine gear. its been a month now. ive taken it apart checked for blockages from the repair job but i cant find the problem. the reservoir is much higher than the pump so im pretty sure theres no air in the lines. anyone come across anything like this before?

Many hydraulic pumps work by two gears meshing together (gear pump) with the spaces between teeth decreasing to produce pressure. They're pretty bullet proof. You may have to prime the pump, though. If there is any bubble in the line prior to the pump it may not pick up and go on its own. Try taking the input or low pressure side loose and filling it with hydraulic fluid then reconnect it. It may not help but it can't hurt and may solve your problem.

i was wondering about that but like i said the fluid reservoir sits above the pump so as soon as you put fluid in its flowing into the pump. if i pull the lines AFTER the pump with the tractor off it flows out quickly but i can take off the high pressure line while its running and very little fluid comes out. my father in law who does stuff like this every day is stumped and that has me really worried.

If possible, use a shop vac to pressurize the reservoir and help the pump get started.

I am mindful that you have a Belarus.

Decades ago my neighbor was selling Belarus tractors. When he had one for service, particularly electrical stuff, he would call me to come by in the evening to help him get this machine he had sold running again.

I know they have come a long way and therefor my comments are no longer fair. One wire re would start out red in the harness but before it reached the end, it could change colors a couple of times. They used pieces of whatever wire they had to make a harness. Terrible to troubleshoot and my friend was completely baffled.

Is there a filter or screen between the reservoir and the pump? An air leak on the suction side will bring everything to a halt as will a restriction in a dirty filter or screen.

How do you fix a hydraulic line by welding? Too much penetration or heat cause a block the line?

there is one section i was thinking about but i have to take some sheet metal off to get to it. it might be the filter but its really small so i have doubts. there are no screens that i can find.

the shop vac is a great idea. at this point it cant hurt.

its called silver solder. i had it done to this line when it blew 5 or so years ago and held until this past month. i did check the line to make sure there wasnt items in there from the repair job.

Make sure your pump drive gear is engaged there is a lever that can take it out of gear. There is a filter on those machines located in the tank. YOU may want to go here Free manuals sign up and get all the manuals for that tractor for free. The hydraulics are quite simple with a robust gear pump. The filters are a pain I put a external housing with canister filter and removed the stock one on my 820.
