My AYP tractor (Model 951940) mower chewed up the mower drive belt. The parts list says this is a 93-1/2 inch belt. My local supplier has 93.0 and 94.0 inch belts. Is the 1/2 inch difference going to cause problems?

Thanks

No problems... look at how the belt is tighten. I had to use a belt that was a couple inches short so I had to use a spacer in between the spring and where the bolt ties into the deck.

Check to see if you have wiggle room to use the small one... a half inch should not be a problem.

I recommend a "Kelvar" belt, it will last longer.

You also need to match the width and thickness:

Had the same dilemma with my Cub 50" mowing deck. Cub wants you to buy their proprietary ($$$$) belt. VBeltSupply has any belt you want, in any profile and material, but NOT in the exact length of the Cub, which you have to measure to find. Cub doesn't want you to know.

So I went with the nearest, next longer size in Kevlar that VBeltSupply had. It works great, but I probably should have gone with the next SHORTER length, given my old, tired tensioner springs. Since the one I got is slightly looser, I fear it may flop around a bit more and suffer premature wear.

Thanks guys, The local auto parts store stocks AYP belts but did not have that one in stock. I gave him the part number and it will be here Tuesday morning. Had to pay $20 which I know is probably way too high. Next time I'll get the 93" Kevlar belt and make it fit.

$20 actually sounds OK. Better than the $30-$40 that Cub wants for their name-brand stuff.

Bush Hog OEM belt is just shy of $70 - thanks for the VBeltSupply link, it's only $30 for the closest match - not sure why they didn't carry 154.64" belt :hissyfit:
